Brazil legend Cafu has described his countryman Neymar Jr as the most technically gifted player ahead of six-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi.
The 28-year-old has been away from the Camp Nou since 2017 after joining Paris Saint Germain in a world-record fee of about £200 million. Although the PSG star could reunite with his former teammate before the start of next season as reports claim he is ready to dump the Parc Des Princes club.
Neymar was tipped to take over from both Messi and his rival Cristiano Ronaldo but his move to the French capital has seen everything crumble. He did not even make it to top five of any big-stage award last year with the Argentine and Virgil van Dijk sharing he awards between themselves.
Meanwhile, the two-time World Cup winner has insisted that his countryman is more skillful than both Messi and Ronaldo combined as reported by SunSport quoting Fox Sport Brazil.
He during a skype interview with Fox Sport Brazil: “Today, as far as technical skill, there is no player that is superior to Neymar, not even Messi, who I am a big fan of.
“What the world wants is to watch Neymar play football, for him to dedicate himself to football.” The Catalans want to secure his signature by activating a Fifa rule to re-sign him if PSG remain adamant they won’t allow their starman leave this summer.
